How to Make a Background Blur Effect

Background blur effect can blur the background and emphasize the subject of pictures, which makes the picture more concise and beautiful. With musemage Background Blur Lens，you can easily get this effect and need not worry about your camera function any more.

I’ll use the following picture for example in this tutorial.

And this is the effect we can get when applied this wonderful lens.

 Let’s get started!

First, choose polygonal lasso or other extract tool to make a selection of the girl in the picture.

And then, choose “Select > Feather” to feather the selection.

Input the parameter of the radius. Here, we input 10.

In order to blur the background, we will choose the background as a selection, so we’ll use Inverse. You can choose it from “Select > Inverse”, or press shortcut key Ctrl + Shift + I.

After choose the background as selection, we will use Background Blur Lens.

Set the parameter of the settings as below.

Click OK. Press “Ctrl + D”,  we can get the final effect:
