In this tutorial, I’d like to introduce a way of making a Chinese notepaper with character background. It is quite interesting. If you prefer this one, you can follow me.

Here is a Chinese notepaper.


First of all, copy this picture and select “Filters > Color Effects > Black and White”. Pay attention to the adjustment of Contrast.


Then, Choose “Adjust > Bright Contrast”.


Lower the Contrast as you favor, and get the brightness a little bit higher.


If we wanna this picture to get some color, we can select “Adjust > Monochrome”.


Change the Hue and Saturation as below, now we have this color.


Next, add a transparent layer.


We’ll draw some lines on it. Choose Pencil Tool and Black color to finish it.


In order to have a better effect, we will lower the transparent to 40%.


This is the final result.
